iphone 7

When photos recently leaked showing an unreleased smartphone that looked exactly like an iPhone, it stood to reason that people would jump to the conclusion that the device was… the unreleased iPhone 7. And that’s exactly what happened back in March, when images from an Eastern manufacturer leaked and showed a smartphone that looked exactly like the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s, but with a thinner housing and redesigned antenna lines on the back of the device. Hilariously, the marketing boss from Android vendor Meizu actually had to come out and post a picture of an unreleased Meizu phone to show that the phone in question wasn’t the iPhone 7, but instead an upcoming phone from his company.
Well, the Meizu Pro 6 has now been unveiled and just as we all thought it would be, it’s a shameless iPhone ripoff. But believe it or not, it’s even more shameless than we were expecting. More →

How Samsung, yes Samsung, might make the iPhone 7 faster

Macs may only account for a fraction of the PC market, but they’re still design and performance benchmarks that Apple competitors try to beat. HP is the latest company to come up with a laptop design that aims to top the Retina MacBook, but Apple is also expected to launch 2016 MacBooks that’ll be slimmer and faster than predecessors.
And Samsung is the company that may provide some of the critical components required to bump up performance. Similarly, it’s also Samsung that might help Apple make the iPhone 7 even faster than previous models. More →

Apple iPhone 7 Rumor Battery Size

iPhone 7 rumor: How a thinner iPhone could still have a bigger battery

One of the more frustrating aspects of being an iPhone 6s user is that the device really does have middling battery life. This is why I’ve been rolling my eyes at rumors that Apple plans to make the iPhone 7 even thinner — I would much rather have an iPhone that’s slightly thicker and delivers significantly better battery life.
However, PhoneArena has flagged a new rumor from Korean news publication ETNews that claims Apple is going to use a new kind of chipset for the iPhone 7 that will allow it to have a thinner phone that’s also capable of holding a larger battery. More →

Report details new tech Apple is using to make the iPhone 7 thinner and lighter

If you ask current iPhone owners for a list of features they’d like to see Apple incorporate into the iPhone 7, a thinner and lighter form factor would likely appear somewhere near the bottom, if at all. Indeed, most respondents would likely ask for improved battery life, or more storage, or even a better camera. But because Jony Ive is reportedly obsessed with increasingly thinner devices, the iPhone 7 by all accounts will shave a few millimeters off of what is already an incredibly thin iPhone 6s.
Now if we put aside well-placed grievances regarding Apple’s obsession with thinness over other utilitarian considerations, it’s rather impressive that Apple can continue to make successive iPhone models thinner while concurrently making them faster and equipping them with more advanced camera modules. And all the while, battery life practically remains the same.

iPhone 7 Storage 32GB 64GB

Guess how much more money Apple makes when you buy a 64GB iPhone instead of 16GB

Apple shocked the world a week ago when it revealed that it’s ready to sell you a phone that has a three-year-old design but packs current top-shelf hardware for a fraction of what you expected it to cost. The 16GB iPhone SE is a steal at $399, but there is a fine print attached to this statement. It’s a steal only if you can make 16GB of storage work; the 64GB model costs another $100.
Based on the iPhone SE’s price — and taking into account the fact that Apple already sells 256GB iPad Pro models, and that some rumors say the same storage tier is coming to iPhone — I said a few days ago that Apple might make the iPhone 7 seem even cheaper than predecessor with a simple trick. Rather than selling it in 16/64/128GB versions, Apple could go for a 32/128/256GB or 64/128/256GB storage setup.
At the time, the former proposal made more sense, offering Apple a storage model in line with the iPad Pro. But what if the entry-level iPhone 7 ships with 64GB of memory and costs the same $650 you pay now for a 16GB iPhone 6s? More →

iPhone 7 Vs Android

Forget Android rivals, the only phone the iPhone 7 needs to top is the iPhone 6s

Earlier this week, longtime technology journalist Walt Mossberg penned a piece for The Verge arguing that the iPhone 7 needs to “be spectacular,” particularly because the products Apple introduced at its special media event this week were nothing special.
I found Mossberg’s take in this regard to be a little bit off base. This week’s media event wasn’t intended to show off Apple’s latest and greatest technologies. Rather, it was intended to shore up holes in the company’s product line, specifically as it pertains to a 4-inch iPhone.
Remember, Apple last introduced a 4-inch iPhone more than two and a half years ago when it released the iPhone 5s. The iPhone SE, therefore, is simply Apple playing catch-up and realizing that a large portion of its user base actually prefer using a more compact device. After all, 30 million new 4-inch iPhones were sold in 2015 alone.

iPhone 7 Design Specs Concept

This gorgeous iPhone 7 concept looks too good to be true

The iPhone generates plenty interest among designers, with many people trying to imagine what next-gen iPhones might look like as well as predicting the innovative features future models will offer customers. Currently, it’s the iPhone 7 that’s capturing the imagination of designers. Some of them come up with quite believable concepts while others have more outlandish iPhone dreams.
Glaxon Paul’s iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Pro concepts are gorgeous, but they’re also devices Apple definitely won’t be building, at least not this year.

iPhone 7 iPhone 6s Storage Price

How Apple could make the iPhone 7 a comparative steal even at $650

Apple on Monday announced a couple of new products that had been revealed weeks before by assorted leaks. Some say the iPhone SE and iPad Pro are boring updates on existing products, but that’s hardly the case. The iPhone SE is as powerful as the iPhone 6s, and the 9.7-inch tablet has some features that are better than what’s available on the 12.9-inch model.
But Apple really surprised audiences with some of its pricing announcements: The Apple Watch is now cheaper than ever, and the iPhone SE has $400 entry price.
Is it possible that the iPhone 7 will be cheaper than expected? More →
